The South Australian Skills Commission works to create a dynamic and adaptable skills system to prepare South Australians for the workforce of the future.
Our mission is to equip individuals with the skills needed to thrive in both traditional and emerging industries across the state.
The Commission:
- Promotes best practice regulation of apprenticeships and traineeships to ensure that South Australia is supporting more apprentices and trainees to receive meaningful on-job training in a safe work environment and to complete their qualifications.
- Provides an independent dispute resolution service for all aspects of post-secondary training in South Australia, supporting a fair and effective education and training system.
- Works in partnership with Industry Skills Councils to ensure the Government is provided with industry-driven advice on skills and workforce needs.
- Oversees the Skills system and ensures there are traineeship and apprenticeship pathways available to deliver the skills needed.
- Actively promotes and celebrates career pathways and lifelong learning, recognising the value and contribution vocational education and training makes to our economy and community.
