The South Australian Government is building five new Technical Colleges, including one in PortAugusta, to provide secondary students across the region with more opportunities to gain skills for in-demand industries.
Port Augusta Technical College will be tailored to the needs of the local industry, region and community. With industry training programs co-designed with employer partners, students will engage in real-world industry projects to gain all the practical skills that employers actually need.
Students can get a head start to a hands-on career in 1 of 4 in-demand industry specialisations:
• Civil, resources and infrastructure
• Health and social support
• Hospitality and tourism
• Multi-trades (for careers as plumbers, builders, electricians, boilermakers).
By partnering with a technical college, employers will be supporting the development of a talented pipeline of skilled workers for the future.
Students will graduate with all the skills, workplace understanding and practical experience to start their career (or continue studying!) as soon as they finish school.
