South Australia’s renewable energy is forecast to rise to approximately 90% in 2025/26, and that places us a world leader in the transition to renewable energy, with Hydrogen being critical to unlocking investment in South Australia.
With our world-leading coincident wind and solar resources, it positions the state at the centre of global hydrogen opportunities and provides a competitive edge in the race to supply clean, green, renewable hydrogen to the world.
The Office of Hydrogen Power South Australia, led by CEO Sam Crafter, oversees the design and delivery of the South Australian Government’s Hydrogen Jobs Plan (being built near Whyalla by December 2025), the proposed Port Bonython Hydrogen Hub and industry development to accelerate South Australia’s hydrogen economy.
